Microneedling Aftercare
Aftercare starts in the room, not on a website. You go home with written instructions matched to the depth we used and the area we treated. This page sets out the shape of it, hour by hour and then day by day. The exact window for your skin comes from your provider.
What Changes Your Aftercare
The Depth We Used
Shallow work and deep work ask for different care. Your written instructions are written for the setting we actually ran on your skin.
The Area We Treated
A face, a neck, and a body area each recover on their own terms. Clothing, friction, and sun exposure all differ by site.
Phoenix Sun
Sun protection carries real weight here, and shade is part of the plan. We tell you how to handle daylight while the surface is settling.
What Sits on Your Shelf
Retinoids, acids, and scrubs get paused, and we say when they come back. Bring your routine to the appointment so we can go through it.
Your Health History
How you heal, how you scar, and what you take all shape the instructions. That is why the history comes before the needling.
What You Have Booked Next
Waxing, injectables, and other device work need spacing around a session. Tell us what is in your calendar and we will order it properly.
Aftercare timeline
Aftercare, in the Order It Happens
Three phases, in sequence. How long each one runs depends on the depth we set and how your skin behaves, so we give you that window at your appointment rather than guessing it here.
The First Hours
Do
- Keep your hands off the treated skin
- Leave the surface bare unless we hand you something
- Rinse with cool water if we tell you to
- Keep the room cool and go easy
Avoid
- Makeup over the treated area
- Heat, saunas, and hot showers
- Workouts that raise a sweat
- Anything with acid or fragrance in it
The Days After
Do
- Cleanse with the gentle wash we name for you
- Wear the sun protection we send you home with
- Let flaking skin lift on its own
- Call us with any question, however small
Avoid
- Retinoids, acids, and scrubs until we clear them
- Picking, scratching, or peeling the surface
- Pools, spas, and open water
- Phoenix midday sun on a bare face
As the Series Runs
Do
- Book the next session at the spacing Tasha sets
- Take a photograph in the same light each time
- Tell us what your skin did between visits
- Keep the sun protection going every day
Avoid
- Booking another device treatment without telling us
- Starting a new active at home mid series
- Long sun exposure the week before a session
- Skipping the review appointment
What Is Normal Afterwards
Redness and warmth
Closer to wind burn than to injury. How long it sits depends on the depth we used.
Tightness across the area
The surface can feel taut while the channels close. Leave it alone and let it settle.
Light flaking
Some skins shed a little as they repair. Let it lift rather than helping it off.
Skin that looks better before it looks new
Collagen is laid down slowly, so the structural change arrives after the surface calms.
When to Call Us
Redness that spreads or climbs
Call 602-469-8693. We would rather look at it early than hear about it later.
Pain that builds instead of settling
Discomfort should ease. Anything moving the other way is worth a phone call.
Weeping, crusting, or an open area
Stop every product on the area and call us before you put anything else on it.
Fever or feeling unwell
Call us, and seek urgent care if you feel worse while you are waiting.
Microneedling Aftercare FAQ
Microneedling aftercare,
answered
The questions we hear most about Microneedling aftercare.
Your written instructions carry the timing, because it follows the depth we used. When you do wash, use the gentle cleanser we name and cool water rather than hot. Pat the skin dry instead of rubbing it. Call 602-469-8693 if anything feels wrong.
Not while the channels are still closing. Makeup goes back on once your provider clears it, and clean brushes matter more than the brand does. Your aftercare sheet gives you the window for your own skin, because depth and area both change it.
Long enough to plan around, and shorter than most people expect. The honest answer depends on the depth we chose and how your skin behaves. Tasha gives you that window at the appointment so you can book around an event rather than hope.
Sweat, heat, and friction all work against freshly needled skin, so exercise pauses first. Walking is usually the first thing back. Your instructions say when to return to the gym, and it is worth waiting rather than guessing.
Direct sun is the one to avoid, and in Phoenix that takes planning. Cover up, stay in shade, and keep the sun protection we send you home with on your face. Your aftercare sheet sets out how long to keep that going.
Retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, and anything with fragrance come out of the routine first. We name what to use in the meantime, so your skin is not left guessing. Everything goes back in the order your provider sets.
Some skins flake lightly as they repair and some barely do. Either is normal, and neither tells you how well the treatment worked. Let it lift on its own. Picking at it risks marking the skin you just paid to improve.
Not before your provider has seen how your skin repaired. Facials, peels, waxing, and injectables all need spacing around a session. Tell us what you have booked and Tasha will order the plan so nothing lands on top of anything else.
Spacing follows how your skin rebuilds, not a calendar rule. Tasha sets the interval at your consultation and confirms it at the review. Booking early does not speed collagen up, so the schedule is there for a reason.
Call 602-469-8693 and speak to us directly. We would rather see the skin in person than answer a message about it. Patients travel in from across the valley, and we will fit an urgent look at you around your day.
