What Whitening Addresses

What Whitening Can and Cannot Reach

stain from coffee, tea, and wine treated with teeth whitening in Phoenix

Stain From Coffee, Tea, and Wine

Surface stain builds slowly enough that you stop noticing it. Whitening lifts the kind that sits on and just inside the enamel. This is the staining it answers best.

Causes+

Coffee, tea, red wine, dark sauces, and tobacco all leave pigment on enamel that brushing does not fully clear.

How Whitening Settles

What to expect, step by step

Same Day

Day 1

The shade change is visible when you leave. Some sensitivity is normal for the first day or two; avoid very hot or cold drinks and anything that stains.

Settled

Days 1-2

Sensitivity fades and the shade settles very slightly as the enamel rehydrates. What you see now is the result.

Holds

Months

How long it holds depends on coffee, tea, wine and smoking more than on anything we did. Most patients top up every several months; we tell you what whitening reaches and what it will not.

The Honest Version of Whitening

Why Patients Choose Us

The Honest Version of Whitening

Whitening is sold on a shade number more often than it is explained. We will not put a shade in front of you before we have looked at your teeth. The price arrives with the plan.

We will not promise you a number of shades and we will not point at somebody else's photographs as though they were yours. Enamel thickness, the kind of staining, and any dental work all change what is possible. You hear our honest read instead.

Most patients add whitening to an appointment they were already coming in for. That is the sensible way to use it. Kelly and Tasha Wright Ford, RN will tell you where it fits in the week you have planned.

We see patients at 707 E Palo Verde Dr, Ste A, Phoenix, AZ 85014, in Uptown Phoenix. Patients drive in from across the valley. Call 602-469-8693 and we will find a time that works.

Tasha is truly one of the kindest people you will ever meet, and her expertise in Botox is exceptional. I live in another state and still choose to wait to see her because she is that good. She is professional, knowledgeable, and always makes the experience comfortable. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality care and amazing results.

How Your Visit Goes

Your Whitening Visit, Start to Finish

Four steps, in order, with the honest conversation happening first. Whitening is straightforward to do and easy to oversell, so we set the expectation before the gel is opened.

Step 01 · Check

We Look at What Is Staining

Surface stain, thinning enamel, and dental work all read as color and answer very differently. We also ask about sensitivity and any recent dental treatment.

  • Crowns, veneers, and fillings noted
  • Sensitivity history asked about first
  • What whitening will realistically lift

Good Questions

Teeth Whitening Questions,
Answered

The things patients ask before a first appointment. If yours is not here, call 602-469-8693 and ask.

A whitening gel is applied to the enamel and left on for a set time while your gums and lips stay protected. It lifts the pigment sitting on and just inside the enamel surface. It does not change the natural color of the layer underneath, and it does not clean your teeth.

No. Whitening works on enamel, and dental work is not enamel. If you have visible crowns, veneers, or white fillings at the front, they stay the shade they are while everything around them lightens. We look for that at the check and tell you what to expect.

We will not put a shade number in front of you before we have looked at your teeth. Enamel thickness, the kind of staining, and any dental work all move that answer. You get an honest read at your consultation rather than a promise borrowed from somebody else's photographs.

Some sensitivity to cold is common afterwards and it usually settles on its own. How much you get depends on where you started, which is why we ask about your sensitivity history before anything is applied. If it becomes uncomfortable during the appointment, you say so and we stop.

That depends almost entirely on what you drink and whether you smoke. Coffee, tea, and red wine put the color back the same way they took it out in the first place. Your written aftercare covers what to avoid straight afterwards, when teeth take on pigment most easily.

If you have pain, a loose filling, or have not had a check in a long time, see your dentist before you whiten. Whitening is cosmetic and it does not treat decay or gum disease. We will tell you plainly when a dental appointment should come before this one.
