What IPL Addresses
A flush across the cheeks and nose that no longer settles on its own. Makeup covers it for an hour, then it reads through again.
Pulsed light is absorbed by the vessels feeding the flush, so the color can ease. We start conservatively, because rosacea reacts to heat and to being pushed.
Vessels near the surface stay dilated. Heat, sun, alcohol, and stress all keep them open, and Phoenix summers do the rest.
What to expect, step by step
Day 1
Skin reads warm and pink, like a light sunburn. Brown spots may look darker tonight than they did this morning. That is the pigment lifting, not spreading.
Days 3-10
Darkened spots flake away on their own over the first week or so. Redness settles. Do not pick; the spots leave when they are ready.
Weeks 2-4, per session
IPL is usually run as a series of three to five, a few weeks apart, because pigment and redness clear in layers. The full result reads a few weeks after the final session.

Your plan is set by Tasha Wright Ford, RN, Master Injector, 22+ years in nursing and 16+ years injecting. Dr. Anna Mkrtchyan, Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD), is our Medical Director. Kelly, our aesthetician of 17+ years, works alongside them.
Every plan follows a full health history and a facial assessment. Both happen before the handpiece comes out. IPL depends on the contrast between your pigment and your skin tone, so that read decides whether we book you at all.
You hear what we would do, what we would not, and what it costs. If your skin tone or your recent sun exposure makes IPL a poor fit, we say so. We offer a different route instead of booking you anyway.

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. Rather than one laser wavelength, it delivers a broad band of light. That light is absorbed by color in the skin, meaning brown pigment and small vessels. That is why a photofacial is chosen for tone, spots, and redness rather than for texture or lines.
No, and the difference matters. A laser emits one wavelength in a focused beam. IPL emits a broad spectrum through a filter, which is why it covers color across a wider area. At GlamWright Medical Boutique we run IPL for color and LaseMD Ultra, a non-ablative thulium laser, for texture and resurfacing.
They are the same category of treatment under different names. BBL is a manufacturer's branded version of intense pulsed light, sold on its own platform. We run IPL rather than that branded system, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a specific branded device is what you are after, ask us and we will tell you straight.
A pulsed-dye laser is a separate device, tuned tightly to the color of blood. It is often chosen for vascular work. We do not run one. IPL covers vessels and brown pigment across a broader band. Tasha Wright Ford, RN will tell you when your concern is better matched to a device we do not own.
It is one of the tools used for the vascular side of rosacea. The light is absorbed by the vessels driving the flush. Before-and-after photos you find online are other people's skin, so treat them as illustration rather than a forecast. Rosacea is managed rather than cured, and we say that up front.
Not every skin tone is a good candidate. IPL works by targeting contrast between pigment and surrounding skin, so deeper tones and recently tanned skin carry more risk. Tasha assesses your tone at consultation. If IPL is a poor fit, she will say so and route you to a treatment that suits your skin better.
Recent sun is the main one. A tan, deliberate or accidental, changes how the light is absorbed and raises the risk of an uneven result. Certain medications and skincare actives matter too, which is why we take a full health history first. You get a written list of what to pause, and for how long, before your session.
