Day 1

Weeks 1-6
Lobes heal steadily through this window. Some redness and crusting is normal; increasing pain, heat or discharge is not, and you call us.
Weeks 6-12
Lobe piercings are usually settled by six to eight weeks; cartilage takes considerably longer. Jewellery is changed only once healing is complete.

In a treatment room at our Uptown Phoenix boutique, not at a counter or a retail desk. You sit down, we take a health history, we mark the placement, and you approve it in a mirror. The piercing itself is the shortest part of the appointment.
The site is cleaned before anything happens and the equipment used is single use and sterile. Each side is done separately. This is a medical boutique, so the standard here is the same one that applies to every other treatment room in the building.
It is brief and most people describe a sharp pinch rather than lasting pain. Lobes tend to be the most forgiving. You are told exactly what is happening before each step, and we work one side at a time so nothing catches you by surprise.
Cleaning routine, sleeping position, and leaving the site alone are what decide how a piercing settles. Touching it with unwashed hands is the most common cause of trouble. You leave with aftercare in writing and a number to call if the site reads hot, sore, or wrong.
