What to expect, step by step
Day 1
A grid of small injections across each underarm. It is quick, the points settle within the hour, and there is nothing to change about your day.
Days 4-7

2 Weeks to 4-6 Months
Full effect at around two weeks. For hyperhidrosis the hold is usually longer than cosmetic Botox, typically four to six months and for some patients longer. We book the review to find your interval.

Sweat glands produce because a nerve tells them to. The injections interrupt that chemical signal in the treated area, so the glands there go quiet while the rest of your body sweats normally. It is the same product used for expression lines, doing a different job at a different depth.
Yes. Botox is FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating in adults when topical treatments do not work well enough. Treatment of other areas, such as palms, is off-label, which we discuss plainly at assessment.
Most patients get several months from a treatment, commonly in the range of four to six, and some longer. Phoenix patients often time a treatment for late spring so the effect covers the worst of the summer.
No, and you would not want to. Sweating is how the body cools itself. The effect is limited to the treated area, and your overall temperature regulation carries on as normal.
Most patients notice nothing of the kind. A small number report modest extra sweating elsewhere, and it is usually mild when it happens at all. It is a fair question to raise at assessment, and we answer it honestly rather than waving it away.
The injections are shallow and quick, closer to a series of small pinches than anything else. The underarm is more forgiving than people expect, and the whole appointment is short.
The change usually begins within the first few days and settles into its full effect by about two weeks. That is when the follow-up happens, and a touch-up covers any patch of the grid that is still active.
