What to expect, step by step
Day 1
Skin reads bright and slightly tight straight away. There is no peel and no downtime, so you can go back to your day.
Days 2-5
Any tightness eases. Tone has not moved yet, and it is not meant to; this is the window where sun protection decides how much of the series holds.
Weeks 4-8, across the series
Pigment lifts gradually rather than in one step, and it lifts unevenly before it lifts evenly. Most patients run a series and judge the result after the last session, not the first.

Your plan is set by Tasha Wright Ford, RN, Master Injector, with 22+ years in nursing and 16+ years injecting. Dr. Anna Mkrtchyan, Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD), is our Medical Director. Kelly, our aesthetician of 17+ years, works alongside them.
Pigment is the one area where the wrong treatment can leave the skin worse than it started. Your history, your hormones, and how your skin has healed before all get read first. If PRX-PLUS is not the right route, we say so.
We carry PRX-PLUS and PRX Derm Perfexion. Their indications overlap, so the choice is a judgement rather than a menu: PRX-PLUS is the stronger, newer formulation and the one we lean on when brightness and uneven tone lead, while Derm Perfexion is the long-established one and often the better starting point. Plenty of patients turn out to need the other one, and we would rather book you into it.

What separates it from the other PRX we carry is strength: this is the newer, stronger formulation, with a brightening emphasis. It pushes turnover harder, which is why its sessions sit two weeks apart rather than one. The surface is not broken, so there is no peeling to wait out.

That is the assessment's job, and it is worth the visit. Patients often arrive certain they need the brightening one when their real complaint is texture, or the reverse. Booking the wrong one is not dangerous, but it is a series spent on the wrong problem, and we would rather catch it first.
It is used as part of managing melasma, and managing is the honest word. Melasma is driven by hormones, heat, and UV, and it returns when those return. Anyone promising to clear it permanently is overselling. Tasha will tell you what a realistic result looks like on your skin before you commit to a series.
There is no heat and no wound in this treatment, which is the reason it comes up for patients who have been steered away from lasers and other energy-based pigment work. Safety still depends on your individual skin and history, which is exactly what the consultation is for. We will tell you plainly if we do not think it is the right route.
Most people describe warmth and a short sting during the massage, which settles as the application continues. There is no needle, so there is nothing to numb for. We check in as we work and stop whenever you ask.
