What to expect, step by step
Day 1
Skin reads bright and slightly tight straight away. There is no peel and no downtime; that is the point of the formulation.
Days 2-5
Any tightness eases and the surface change stays. Minimal or no flaking is usual, which is why it can be booked close to an event.
Weeks 2-4, per session
The work is under the surface, and it compounds. Most patients run a series of three or four a couple of weeks apart and see the full result after the last.

We carry PRX Derm Perfexion and PRX-PLUS. Their uses overlap: Derm Perfexion is the long-established formulation and can be run weekly, while PRX-PLUS is the newer and stronger one, with a brightening emphasis and two weeks between sessions. Tasha decides which belongs on your skin at the assessment rather than selling you whichever you walked in asking for.

It is the same treatment under a different name. PRX-T33 is what it is called outside the US, after the trichloroacetic acid in the formulation. The US name is PRX Derm Perfexion. Nothing about the formula or the appointment changes between them, so if you have had PRX-T33 elsewhere, this is what you had.
An acid formulation is applied to the skin and massaged in by hand, with no needle and no device involved. The surface is not broken, which is what separates it from a peel or from microneedling. Patients search for it as a PRX treatment as well.
It drives a repair response underneath while leaving the surface intact. That is why the treatment reads as firmness and tone rather than as flaking. What it can reach depends on your skin, your pigment history, and how many sessions the plan runs to. Tasha gives you that read at your consultation.
They are two formulations whose uses overlap rather than two separate menus. Derm Perfexion is the long-established one and can be run weekly. PRX-PLUS is newer and stronger, leans toward brightening and uneven tone, and needs two weeks between sessions. We carry both, and which one you are a candidate for is decided at the assessment.
It is not, although it gets filed next to peels because of what is in it. A peel takes the surface off and you shed it over the following days. PRX Derm Perfexion works through an intact surface instead. If you have been comparing the two, that is the line between them.
Most people describe warmth and a short sting during the massage, which settles as the application continues. There is no needle, so there is nothing to numb for. We check in as we work and stop whenever you ask. Sensitive skin tends to feel it more in the first minute.
